Join webinar for industry leaders: solve your industry challenges together with scientists
We invite you to participate in an informational online seminar on December 11, where the BioPhoT Industry Challenge call for companies will be presented.
The seminar will be held in Latvian at 12:00 PM and in English at 2:00 PM, and will last 40 minutes.
Please register here to attend: https://biophot.lv/event/industry-challenge-for-companies/
During the session, the BioPhoT project will be introduced, the objectives of the Industry Challenge initiative will be explained, how it promotes innovation will be outlined, and it will be shown how industry partners can directly benefit from participation. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
Below is a brief overview of BioPhoT:
Industry Challenge Summary
BioPhoT is a national program that has created an Industry Challenge platform connecting companies with Latvia’s leading laboratories in the fields of biomedicine, photonics, materials, and sensor technologies. The program aims to bring industry closer to scientists and help industry tackle technically complex problems that require specialized research knowledge or equipment.
Core Principle of the Industry Challenge
Companies submit a specific challenge (for example, finding uses for production waste, developing a vaccine, devising ways to detect optical drones in time, developing a new sensor principle, designing a microfluidics solution, validating materials, etc.).
BioPhoT publishes the company-submitted challenge, and scientists apply with concrete solution ideas.
Two main directions:
A team of scientists applies to the BioPhoT project to fund their work for up to 12 months (the company can participate as a mentor);
A team of scientists and the company decide to collaborate and prepare joint projects outside the BioPhoT platform.
Companies retain the freedom to decide on next steps based on the results.
BioPhoT is particularly suitable for companies that:
Want to test scientific approaches before product development
Face challenges in measurements, sensors, materials, or miniaturization
Need specialized equipment not available in-house
Want to efficiently evaluate early-stage technologies
We look forward to seeing you at the webinar and answering your questions.
